Equinox Movie Review

modine alan rudolph boyle

Someday, some Alan Rudolph devotee will come up with a book about why he or she IS one, and I have a hunch I will be no more enlightened than I am now. Equinox is well acted but sluggish hooey about twins Henry and Freddie (Matthew Modine in a dual role) who both inherit a fortune. An even more frustrating movie to watch than Trouble in Mind, if that's possible.

1993 (R) 110m/C Matthew Modine, Lara Flynn Boyle, Lori Singer, Marisa Tomei, Fred Ward, M. Emmet Walsh, Tyra Ferrell, Tate Donovan, Kevin J. O'-Connor, Gailard Sartain; D: Alan Rudolph; W: Alan Rudolph; C: Elliot Davis. Nominations: Independent Spirit Awards ‘94: Best Actor (Modine), Best Cinematography, Best Film, Best Supporting Actress (Boyle). VHS, LV, Letterbox, Closed Caption
