A modern update of the basic fairy tale crammed with all the cliches, this adventurously irreverent love story centers around beautiful maiden Buttercup (Wright Penn) and her young swain Westley (Elwes) as they battle the evils of the mythical kingdom of Florin to be reunited with one another. Great dueling scenes and offbeat satire of the genre make this fun for adults as well as children. Based on William Goldman's cult novel.

The Princess Bride came out in 1987 and has a total running time of 98 minutes. Cary Elwes, Robin Wright Penn, Wallace Shawn and Peter Falk star in this comedy/adventure film. Oh no! Buttercup has been kidnapped and is being forced to marry Prince Humperdinck. She doesn’t want to. Her true love, Westley, comes to the rescue to save her. Along the way, there’s some sword fights and some bad guys. But in the end, the two live happily ever after.
