Five students from different cliques at a Chicago suburban high school spend a day together in detention. Rather well done teenage culture study; these characters delve a little deeper than the standard adult view of adolescent stereotypes. One of John Hughes' best movies. Soundtrack features Simple Minds and Wang Chung.

This is another one of my favorite movies! Definitely sounds like high school to me! Definitely goes along with the rest of the teenage movies of the 1980's. The kids are all so different but also just alike. You've got one person from all of the typical high school cliques: jock, basketcase, princess, geek, and troublemaker. This movie is a good one for people in high school to watch to realize just how alike everyone really is if you just take the time to get to know them.
