They Call Me Mr. Tibbs!
Lieutenant Virgil Tibbs (Poitier) investigates the murder of a prostitute. The prime suspect is his friend, the Reverend Logan Sharpe (Landau). He is torn between his duty as a policeman, his concern for the reverend, and the turmoil of his domestic life. Less tense, less compelling sequel to "In the Heat of the Night."

Virgil Tibbs (Sidney Poitier) receives an anonymous phone call that his good friend and reverend murdered a prostitute. Tibbs has 3 other suspects that could have committed the murder but after carefully investigating, all the evidence points to his friend. At first his friend denies that he killed the girl, but then he confesses and begs Mr. Tibbs not to tell anyone right away and then ends up killing himself. Virgil also has some problems of his own going on because his job keeps him away from his family a lot. This 1970 movie is really good and Sidney Portier is a great actor.
