Tragic story based on one of the most famous manhunts in Texas history. A Mexican cowhand kills a Texas sheriff in self-defense and tries to elude the law, all because of a misunderstanding of the Spanish language. Olmos turns in a fine performance as Cortez.

a sad but true event that will happen when words are heard but not understood. feelings in texas toward mexicans at that time were mainly hostile. Almos and Gammon played very realistic roles that were totally opposite in mores and culture. I believe all conflicts are based on misunderstandings of language. i wish hollywood could make more movies of cultural importance. charles barton
