WARNING: REVIEW MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS – WE RECOMMEND TO WATCH MOVIE FIRST! VERDICT: Disappointing comeback of the director of the cult movie “Goldfinger”. Every scene is nicely shot, details are elaborate and memorable, but the story itself is kind of dragging. The movie is nice to the eye, but does not stir emotions. COLL STUFF: - Golden gun (obviously) - “Screwdriver” car-jump: one of the best stunts ever! - All girls are hot - Having sex with one girl while the other is in closet - Midget: cute and scary at the same time - Skaramanga’s mansion and yacht: great design - Imagine: a real flying car - no models! - British MI-6 head-quarters in a tilted cruise ship: funny - “Bottoms Up” bar: sexy and original - Laser-gun: becomes a cliché (Goldfinger, DAF) - Solar energy: still modern idea - Exotic places: Thailand, Indian ocean islands NOT COOL: - Noble duel “Bond – villain”: not believable and plain stupid of 007 - Labyrinth with mirrors – just used in “Enter the Dragon” (1973) - It’s too obvious that Bond-mannequin will turn into live Bond - Not the laser-gun again: 3rd time in a series! (Goldfinger, DAF)
