A pretty TV reporter takes a rest at a clinic and discovers slowly that its denizens are actually werewolves. Crammed with inside jokes, this horror comedy pioneered the use of the body-altering prosthetic makeup (by Rob Bottin) now essential for on-screen man-to-wolf transformations. At last count, followed by six sequels.

Karen White (Dee Wallace-Stone) is being stalked by a serial killer and agrees to help the police capture him. She is so upset by the entire ordeal that she develops amnesia and seeks help from a therapist who suggests she and her husband go to "The Colony" for a little get away to relax. This colony just isn't your typical vacation resort, and everyone there is a werewolf and they don't need a full moon to change. First Karen's husband gets bitten and then Karen is cornered by werewolves and attacked. She calls one of her friends to bring her silver bullets. When Karen comes back home, while on TV she tells the whole world about the Colony and then turns into a werewolf. Her friend then kills her. Everyone watching was wondering if this was real or fake. This 1981 movie isn't the best werewolf movie, however, the costumes, makeup and special affects are really good.
