John Carpenter's horror classic has been acclaimed "the most successful independent motion picture of all time." A deranged youth returns to his hometown with murderous intent after 15 years in an asylum. Very, very scary--you feel this movie more than see it.

This movie is a classic. I like watching this movie around Halloween time every year. One Halloween night young Michael Myers stabs his teenage sister to death. He was institutionalized after that for fifteen years under the care of Dr. Loomis and on October 31, 1978 he escapes. Michael is heading back to Haddonfield to kill again. Dr. Loomis searches for him the whole night trying to stop the killer. Michael seeks out a few high school students, Laurie Strode, Annie and Lynda, and stalks them. Slowly one by one, Annie and Lynda along with some others start missing. Laurie Strode is down the road from her friends babysitting two children. At the end of the movie Michael finds Laurie and tries to kill her and the kids. Dr. Loomis comes and shoots Michael several times and Michael falls off the balcony to the ground. But is he really dead?
