Astaire pursues Rogers to an English seaside resort, where she mistakes him for the hired correspondent in her divorce case. Based on the musical play "The Gay Divorce" by Dwight Taylor and Cole Porter. The title was slightly changed for the movie because of protests from the Hays Office.

The Gay Divorcee came out in 1934 and has a total running time of 107 minutes. Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers and Alice Brady star in this romantic comedy. This film is based on the musical play of the same name by Dwight Taylor and Cole Porter. Mimi want a divorce from her husband so she hired a correspondent for her case. She soon mistakes a dancer as he correspondent. This fiml was popular in it's time. It even won an Oscar.
