Allen goes from man to dogman after being bitten by a 300-year-old Tibetan collie with magical DNA in this remake of Disney's 1959 live-action blockbuster. Allen plays a district attorney and full-time dad now prone to loads of anthropomorphic shtick--barking, lifting his leg to pee, chasing cats, and, of course, sniffing rear-ends. Often comes across more creepy than goofy. Downey succeeds as the prototypical mad scientist villain. Strictly for the kiddies.

This movie is good for kids in elementary school. I don't really see any other ages enjoying this that much. Dr. Kozak kidnaps a Tibetan sheepdog that just so happens to be 300 years old. He wants to discover the dog's secret of longevity and produce a fountain of youth drug. This interesting and very old sheepdog escapes the lab and is rescued by Carly Douglas. Deputy District Attorney Dave Douglas gets bit by the dog while prosecuting Carly's teacher for the firebombing of Dr. Kozak's lab. Dave hates dogs and sends the dog to the pound. Some of the dog's DNA is transferred to Dave and he starts acting like dog and sometimes turns into a sheepdog. Being a dog actually does Dave some good because he learns a lot about his family and the drug company. Even though this movie is very unrealistic, it is a good kids movie.
