Animated adventure about automobiles. Arrogant rookie racecar Lightning McQueen (Wilson) gets detoured to the sleepy town of Radiator Springs while heading cross-country for the Piston Cup Championship in California. He gets a lesson in humility and learns that there's more to life than racing and fame, thanks to such new friends as Sally Carrera (Hunt), a hot 2002 Porsche 911; mysterious Doc (Newman), the 1951 Hudson Hornet; and Mater, a loyal but seen-better-days tow truck. I love Pixar movies! This movie is not just for kids. It is on my list of favorites. Lightning McQueen is a popular race car, which makes him pretty arrogant. On his way to the Piston Cup, his trailer accidentally opens up and McQueen is awaken on the road with cars coming at him. He finds his way to Radiator Springs, gets into some trouble, and damages the road. He isn't allowed to leave until the road is fixed. In the mean time, everyone is searching for him, and while he is there, he makes many friends, and forms a liking toward the Porsche Carrera named Sally. He also discovers that Doc Hudson is a famous racing legend of his day and finds all his old Piston Cups that he won. He convinces Doc to give him some tips to race better, and Doc secretly calls and tells everyone where Lightning is. They come get him, and he is off to the race, only to see all his new friends there rooting him on and helping him in the pit.
