Rodriguez teamed with comic legend Frank Miller to co-direct this overly literal adaptation of Miller's black-and-white crime noir series. Set in the hellishly corrupt Basin City, the plot bounces between a menagerie of unsavory anti-heroes, including Marv (Rourke), a lovable thug bent on avenging a hooker's murder; Dwight (Owen), a moralistic man-with-a-past; and Hartigan (Willis), a cop who spent eight years in prison to protect a virtuous stripper (Alba). More of a slideshow than a film, you'll marvel at how closely it resembles the comic, though the directors' fundamentalist zeal for their source material tests the audience's patience throughout. Acting and pacing are ignored while Rodriguez uses cheap-looking CGI to slavishly reproduce exact panels of Miller's art. Fanboy fervor gone too far.

This movie is crazy. There are a few different storylines through the movie and some scenes or people are in color and some are in black and white. The movie starts out with a man and a woman on a balcony of an apartment. The two seem to care for each other and then the man kills her. She had also planned to do the same thing to him. All these storylines have to do with murders, revenge and saving people. The whole time there’s a narrator as the thoughts of the main characters.

Sin City released and came out to DVD in 2005. The film has a running time of 124 minutes. Jessica Alba, Devon Aoki, Alexis Bledel, Brittany Murphy, Clive Owen and Elijah Wood are just a few of the stars seen in this film. Sin City is partially in black and white. There are four stories that collide and connect together in the end of the movie. Hartigan is a cop who spent some time in prison after protecting a stripper; a thug wanted to gain revenge on the murder of a hooker are just two plots that bounces back and fourth throughout the movie.
