Nickelodeon's animated series (equally popular with kiddies, college students, and wannabe hipsters) makes its debut on the big screen with all its bright colored frivolity intact. Our peppy yellow sea sponge and his dim-witted best pal, starfish Patrick, must save their home of Bikini Bottom from the evil Plankton, who steals the crown of King Neptune. You weren't honestly expecting more of a plot, were you? Hasselhoff appears in all his "Baywatch" glory to save our watery heroes from a desperate dry land fate.

Being general manager of the Krusty Krab is all Spongebob has ever dreamed of, and when his boss Mr. Krabbs gives the job to Squidward Tentacles, Spongebob and has best friend Patrick Starr head over to the Chum Bucket for an eating binge of Chum patties. Meanwhile, Plankton, who owns the Chum Bucket, is trying to steal the Krabby Patty receipe and put Mr. Krabbs out of business for good. Plankton also steals King Neptune's crown, writes a note blaming Mr. Krabbs, so Spongebob and Patrick set out for Shell City to retrieve the crown thinking maybe he'll finally get his promotion if he helps Mr. Krabbs out. This 2004 movie is a lot of fun to watch with many laughs. Great for the whole family to watch!

The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie hit theaters in 2004. It has a run time of 90 minutes and a rating of PG. It’s a great movie for all ages and it’ll keep you laughing through out the whole movie. Plankton has stolen King Neptune’s crown in Bikini Bottom and now Mr. Krabs, SpongeBob’s boss, is getting the blame for stealing the crown. Even though Mr. Krabs turned down SpongeBob for a promotion, SpongBob looks past it and goes on a hunt to find the crown. SpongeBob and his best pal Patrick take an adventure to Shell City in search for King Neptune’s crown, which will eventually save Mr. Krabs from being blamed for something he didn’t do.

ever since the first season of spongebob i have been a huge fan, as well as my dad. we used to love the sponge that annoyed squidward (was totally oblivious to it as well) and the really funny comedy involved. but after the first couple of seasons, this started to fade, and unfortunately it is all gone. the new episodes are terrible and boring. the characters have changed dramatically (for example, squidward is nice) and there is cheesy music playing the whole time. i really miss the funny old episodes that used to make me laugh hard, like band geeks and the exploding pie. i think the writers should look back at the old GOOD episodes and look at what they can do because the new episodes are horrendous. I hope someone will take my advice seriously. I WANT THE OLD SPONGEBOB BACK!!!
