Old-fashioned and underwhelming adventure tale. Once upon a time, the Knights Templar unearthed the legendary treasure of King Solomon during a crusade. After being hidden in Europe, the treasure supposedly made its way to colonial-era America where the Freemasons, who included many of the Founding Fathers, protected it. The treasure is a longtime obsession for the Gates family, including Benjamin Franklin Gates (Cage), who thinks his best clue is concealed on the reverse side of the Declaration of Independence. When his sinister benefactor Howe (Bean) plots to steal the document, patriotic Ben and his techie sidekick Riley (Bartha) try to alert the authorities, including hottie conservator Abigail (Kruger). Many uninvolving twists and less-than-exciting action sequences follow.

National Treasure released to DVD in 2004 with a running time of 130 minutes. Nicolas Cage (as Ben Gates), Diane Kruger (as Abigail Chase) and Justin Bartha (as Riley Poole) star in this adventurous comedy. Ben Gates is determined to find treasure that his family has been searching for years. He believes a clue is on the back of the Declaration of Independence. So what does he do? You guessed it! He sneaks in and steals the Declaration of Independence. Now, the FBI and other treasure hunters are chasing him down! Abigail and Riley join him in his adventure to find the treasure. With twists and many adventures, you won’t want to take your eyes off the screen! I really like this movie. It’s pretty cool to see how they find the treasure.

This movie was pretty good. I'd watch it again. It's about a man who is seeking treasure and believes the clues to find it is on the back of the Declaration of Independence. Most of the movie is of Ben Gates and his two helpers trying to escape from being chased because another team of people are trying to do the same thing, which is to find the treasure. The movie ends with Ben Gates and his friends finding the treasure. Yay! This movie was pretty funny. I thought Nicolas Cage did a good job.
