Sequel to the 1994 film has Santa (Allen again) facing expulsion if he doesn't find himself a Mrs. Claus. He also has to deal with the fact that his son Charlie (Lloyd) just landed on the "naughty" list. When Santa/Scott heads back to the U.S. to help Charlie, he runs afoul of the school's female principal (can you see where this is going?). Back at the Pole, the clone Santa he left in charge is staging a coup, of sorts. Funnier, with more of an edge than the original, this one gives adults plenty to smirk at while the kids are distracted by all the yuletide yahooey.

The sequel Santa Clause 2, starring Tim Allen, Elizabeth Mitchell, and Eric Lloyd, hit theaters in 2002. Santa Clause 2 has a run time of 95 minutes of non-stop laughing. Scott Calvin, also known as Santa Claus is an awesome Santa. He gets along great with the elves, his family, and friends. He couldn’t be happier. That is until he finds that he has two huge problems to now face. The first problem is that his son, Charlie has landed himself on the “naughty” list. The second problem is that he has to find a Mrs. Claus by Christmas or he can’t be Santa anymore. To resolve both problems Scott heads home leaving a toy Santa in charge of the North Pole. The toy Santa tries to do everything right, so perfect to the point he’s become an evil Santa! Meanwhile, Scott is at home trying to help his son and understand why he’s been acting up in school. To do so, Scott meets up with Principal Carol Newman (Mitchell). At first they both don’t make good impressions on one another, but the more time they spend together, the more they start to like each other. Will Charlie get off the “naughty” list and will Scott find himself a Mrs. Claus before Christmas? Just one more problem, Scott now has to come back to the North Pole and save the elves from the fake Santa!
