That's "Mike" as in basketball legend Michael Jordan--or at least his basketball shoes. A pair of old shoes, supposedly once belonging to Jordan, is donated to an orphanage and ending up the property of teen Calvin (Bow Wow). The shoes give him super skills on the basketball court, and he wins a chance to play spoiled star Tracey (Chestnutt) during halftime of a game. Impressed, the coach (Forster) signs Calvin to the fictional L.A. Knights. The hoops story is merely window dressing, however, because most of the story revolves around the efforts of Calvin and fellow orphans Murph (Lipnicki) and Reg (Song) to get adopted. NBA players Gary Payton, Alonzo Mourning, Rasheed Wallace, and Jason Kidd make appearances.

I LOVE this movie! When it came out I watched it all the time! Even though this is really unrealistic, it is still a fun movie. Calvin lives at an orphanage and loves basketball but is really small. People donate things to the orphanage all the time, but when Calvin finds a pair of basketball shoes that once belonged to Michael Jordan, his world changes. He puts them on, and, magically, plays just like Mike. He goes to a basketball game with his friends to sell candy, and is given some tickets from someone there. His lucky seat was chosen to play against one of the pro players one-on-one during the game. He wore the shoes and dominated this guy! This pro team sees his talent and puts him on the team. His world changes from there. I won't spoil you with the ending so you have to watch it to find out what happens.
