Zoinks! Everybody's favorite cartoon Great Dane comes to life in this live action-plus-CGI summer blockbuster. Fred (Prinze) is out to debunk the apparent haunting of theme-park Spooky Island, accompanied by Daphne (Gellar), Velma (Cardellini), Shaggy (Lillard), and Scooby, of course. The plot, which is shaky to begin with, goes against the theme of the cartoon, where there are no ghosts, and meddling kids overcome mean old men in wacky costumes. The movie only takes off when the CGI Scooby (a large reason for the inflated budget) is on screen. Based on the 1969 cartoon, "Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?"

Scooby-Doo came out in 2002 and has a running time of 87 minutes. Freddie Prinze Jr. (as Fred), Sarah Michelle Gellar (as Daphne), Matthew Lillard (as Shaggy) and Linda Cardellini (as Velma) in this fun family comedy. Scooby-Doo is based off the cartoon that came out in the late 1960’s. The Mystery Inc. group is back together and goes to the amusement park, Spooky Island. They each received an invitation to the park; not knowing each other was invited. Once there, they realize that some of the people at Spooky Island are now acting very different from when they first arrived. Now, it’s up to the Daphne, Fred, Velma, Scooby and Shaggy to solve the mystery! I love this movie and I really enjoyed the television series as a child. This movie is full of excitement and laughter.

Scooby doo fans look out - this movie portrays all the cartoon characters very well. I can't believe they started out the show with the plot that the mystery gang all went their own separate ways and hadn't spoken to one another for several years, but don't get too upset, they do reunite on a new mission at Spooky Island and team up again. The actors all do a great job living up to the great cartoon characters and look just like them. I think the best character is Scooby Doo and he's really funny. This is a good family movie and the gang get the bad guys in the end.
