Black coach Herman Boone (Washington) is hired to lead the football team at racially tense T. C. Williams High School in Alexandria, Virginia, a school that has been forced to integrate in 1971. This forces white coach Bill Yoast (Patton), who was close to reaching an important milestone, into the role of assistant. He and his former players almost sit out the season, but decide warily to show up for the first practices. The team works through initial stages of mistrust and ignorance, but finally learn to work together. As the school year begins, racial tensions are eased by the success of the team, and the unified team goes to the state championship. A bit predictable and cliche-ridden, but heartfelt. Based on a true story.

Remember the Titans is based off a true story from when schools began to have black and white people in the same building. The coach is white and another coach was hired to also, and he is black. The football team is of mixed races and they have to work together. As the season goes on, they learn to be one team without color. There are brawls and tears in this movie so get the tissue box ready. This movie isn't just for football fans. This movie is for everyone of all ages.
