Here's a lucky number for you: Zero. That's the amount of time you should spend on this unfortunate comedy. TV weatherman Russ (Travolta) is caught up in a lavish lifestyle he can't afford because unseasonably warm weather is ruining his on-the-side snowmobile business. He schemes with the station's morally lax lotto ball girl Crystal (Kudrow) to fix a jackpot lottery, with her oafish cousin Walter (Moore) as the front man with the ticket. Their plan slips out, so they're hounded by a host of greedy dimwits hoping to get in on the action. Resnick, who hails from Harrisburg PA, where the movie is set, apparently has no qualms painting his fellow townspeople as amoral losers. Loosely based on a 1980 attempt to fix the Pennsylvania State Lottery.

I like this movie. Russ Richards is a popular weatherman in Harrisburg, PA, but he is broke. He borrowed money to open a snowmobile dealer, but the weather hasn't been too cold. Gig, his seedy pal, advises him to run an insurance scam, but when it goes awry, Russ is out another $10,000 and in trouble with Dale, a bat-wielding thug. Gig convinces Russ to rig the state lottery with the help of Crystal, a gold-digging ditz with a heart of tin. They have to find a beard to buy the ticket, and then they have to cash it. Murder and various double-crosses add to Russ's nightmare. A lazy cop starts to pay attention, and jail is closer than riches.
