The only, repeat ONLY, reason to see this movie is Sophie Marceau. Spade, in a bold bit of casting, plays Dylan, a sniveling pipsqueak taken with his French neighbor Lila (the aforementioned Marceau). In a sick attempt to win her love, he kidnaps her dog in order to "find" him a few days later. When the dog swallows an anniversary ring Dylan's holding for a friend, many tasteless dog poo jokes ensue. Wants to be "There's Something About Mary," but doesn't have its winking sense of absurdity. Spade should stick to the snarky sidekick roles and Marceau should fire whoever told her that this would be a good career move.
