Woody is kidnapped by a greedy toy collector and finds out that he was the star of a popular '50s children's show (think Howdy Doody) with a posse of his own. Buzz and the other denizens of Andy's room set out to save him, and in the process meet up with Buzz's arch-nemesis Emperor Zurg. All of the original cast members return to their now-classic characters, and the plentiful new characters, in-jokes, and tributes to other movies keep this installment just as entertaining for kids and adults as the original. This one actually has more depth than the first, dealing with issues such as mortality and the meaning of (a toy's) life. Watch for the outtakes reel while the final credits roll.

If you liked the first Toy Story, you will definitely like the second one. There are many of the same toys but there are some new ones too. Andy's parents have a yard sale while Andy is at summer camp. Woody is accidentally put out for sale and Al McWiggin, a greedy collector and proprietor of "Al's Toy Barn," buys him to put him with Jessie the cowgirl, Stinky Pete the prospector and Bullseye the horse. Buzz Lightyear and some other toys, Mr. Potato Head, Slinky Dog, Rex and Hamm, have to save Woody from being another piece in a museum. Of course, this adventure isn't going to be an easy one. Buzz and the gang run into some sticky situations on their way to Woody. In the meantime, Woody becomes friends with Jessie and Bullseye, and find out that Stinky Pete is not a toy to trust on their journey to escape the evil Al McWiggin.

While Andy goes off to summer camp for the summer, the toys are left to hang out on their own. In an attempt to rescue Wheezy during a yard sale, Woody saves Wheezy but ends up getting stuck in the box instead. A toy collector ends up snatching Woody before he can get rescued. Woody finds out that he is a collector’s toy. Now Buzz and the gang have to go on a mission to save Woody before he gets sent to Japan to be placed in a museum. The gang including Buzz, Mr. Potato Head, Slinky Dog, Rex and Hamm have some exciting adventures on the way to finding Woody. Woody also meets some awesome new toys as well.
