There are no surprises to be found in this formulaic Pygmalion-via-MTV teen comedy. Zack (Prinze Jr.) is the BMOC in yet another broadly drawn high school pecking order. After he's dumped by girlfriend Taylor (O'Keefe) for vain semi-celebrity Brock (Lillard, in an amusing send-up of MTV's "The Real World"), he accepts a bet from a pal that he can make artsy wallflower Laney (Cook) into a prom queen. The intelligent Laney suspects his motives, but proceeds with the makeover with caution. When Taylor decides she wants her man back, the stage is set for a predictable prom night showdown.

This movie came out when I was about 10 years old. I remember watching it at my friend's house on her birthday with all of our girlfriends. In this movie, the popular guy, Zack, breaks up with his girlfriend and takes a bet from his friends. They pick a nerdy artsy girl, Laney, who would have no chance with Zack at all. He transforms her from ugly to beautiful throughout the movie. She finds out it was a bet and all goes downhill. I won't ruin the ending if you haven't seen it, but it's pretty much a chick flick. I really like this movie, though.
