Another in a continuing line of deliberately stupid comedies finds Sandler a not-too-bright, constantly picked-on waterboy for a lousy Louisiana college football team. After a player taunts him once too often, he tackles the big guy, and is suddenly promoted to player--much to the dismay of his over-protective mother, Bates. Loser player turns loser team into winners after some contrived obstacles: you've seen it before, but Sandler cultists (and less discerning football fans) will love it anyway.

This is a funny movie about a guy named Bobby Boucher, played by Adam Sandler, who is a waterboy for a college football team. Bobby is picked on and made fun of all the time. One day, Bobby is fired from his job, goes to a new college football team, gets picked on again and decides he has had enough and tackles the guy. His new coach decides to put him on the team so Bobby goes from waterboy to linebacker. This college has a terrible football team until Bobby comes on board and helps them. Bobby's only trick is to pretend someone is picking on him at a game and he helps the team win every time. Bobby can't tell his mother, played by Katerine Bates, that he is on the football team because his mother is totally against football. His mom is kinda strange, likes to eat alligators and is very overprotective of everything Bobby does. His mom eventually pretends she is sick and Bobby must decide between being with his sick mother or going to his game. This is a good comedy that will make you laugh.
