Disney does some multiracial casting in this lavish, latest TV version of the fairytale. Norwood is sweetly sincere in the title role, with Houston as her diva-like Fairy Godmother. Peters camps as wicked stepmama, Goldberg's the Prince's mother, and the Prince is handsome newcomer Montalban. And Alexander gets the role of comic relief as the princely confidante, Lionel. The Rodgers and Hammerstein score, written for the 1957 TV version, has been augmented with other Richard Rodgers tunes.

Cinderella came out in 1997 and has a total running time of 92 minutes. There are many different versions of this fairy tale. I like this version better than other version. Brandy Norwood, Whitney Houston, Paolo Montalban and Jason Alexander star in this family film. Cinderella wishes to go to the ball to meet her prince charming, but her evil stepmother and stepsister’s do everything possible to stop her from going. Her fairy godmother comes to the rescue and grants her wish to go to the ball to come true.
