Director Craven playfully tweaks the cliches of teen slasher pics (which he helped create with "Nightmare on Elm Street") with this tongue-in-cheek thriller. Yep, where there's a mad slasher on the loose, there must be a group of teenagers "just out for a good time." The difference is both the killer and the victims have been raised on '80s splatter movies and, therefore, know all the rules. Sexual activity and/or substance abuse? Start picking out coffins. The stalker uses his cellular phone to terrorize his victims. He also uses it to ask his prey trivia questions or offer critiques of low-grade horror movies. Campbell plays the virginal heroine in the tight sweater, with Ulrich playing opposite as the sexually frustrated boyfriend. More fun than a bucket full of Karo syrup with red dye #3.

Scream, starring Matthew Lillard, Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox, David Arquette, and Skeet Ulrich, hit theaters in 1996 with a running time of 111 minutes. A year after Sidney Prescott’s mother was murdered, more murders start to occur in the same town. Sidney believes the recent murders are somehow linked to her mother’s murder. The killer calls their victims and disguises their voices while asking them questions. The killer is also dressed in a mask and black robe type outfit. Many of the victims are Sidney’s classmates. Soon, no one is safe and everyone is a victim.

I used to watch this movie all the time. I get scared easily from scary movies, but this one isn't as bad as many others. This movie is about a bunch of high school kids. People from their school keep getting murdered left and right. The killer always asks his victim what their favorite scary movie is. He wears a costume and pops out of nowhere. In the end, the main character, Sydney, finds out her boyfriend and one of their friends are the killers. They try to stab each other so that the blame isn't on them.
