Intelligent child Matilda Wormwood (Wilson) is oppressed by both her monstrous parents (DeVito and Perlman) and awful school principal, Trunchbull (Ferris). However, her first grade teacher, appropriately named Miss Honey (Davidtz), believes in her, which is enough to make Matilda plot an appropriate fate for the miserable people in her life. Excellent adaptation of a typically subversive book by Roald Dahl. Director DeVito, who wanted to create the illusion of a live-action cartoon, built among other things a "Carrot-cam" to capture the flying food of a food fight.

I used to love the movie Matilda! My sister and I used to watch it all the time when it came out. We thought it was so cool that she had powers to make things float and that she was super smart for a first grader. She made us want to be really good with reading and math. On top of that, the movie is hilarious. I'm sure any child to watch this movie would want to watch it again. My sister and I really enjoyed this movie. It's great for children. Very appropriate and super funny.
