Typically entertaining Disney animated story about pampered pussy Duchess (Gabor) and her three kittens, who are left a fortune in their mistress' will. The fortune goes to the butler if the cats don't survive, so he dumps them in the country hoping they won't find their way home. The cats are aided by tough alley denizen O'Malley (Harris)--it's kind of the feline version of "Lady and the Tramp." Maurice Chevalier sings the title tune.

This excellent Disney movie is set in Paris, France in 1910 and was made in 1970. A white cat named Duchess has three kittens named Marie, Berloz and Toulouse. They aren't your common pet as they live in a mansion with their master Madame Adelaide Bonfamille and have a butler named Edgar. The cats are very proper and do not cause any trouble at all. But one day Edgar overhears Madame talking to her lawyer about her will and states that if anything happens to her, she wants Edger to remain on to take care of the cats and when they die Edger will inherent everything. Edger thinking that cats really do have nine lives, fears that the cats will outlive him so he takes them to the country and drops them off. The Duchess and her kittens meet a friend along the way name Thomas O'Malley who is an alley cat and offers to show them the way back to Paris. They have fun meeting his friends, especially Scat Cat and his band. They do finally make it home and Edger tries to get rid of the cats several more times. Eventually the cats rule, and Edger disappears forever. Madame meets Thomas and lets him live with them and opens up her home to all homeless cats. All ages will enjoy this movie!
