Enjoyable musical about a scheming pineapple promoter (Crosby) who meets the woman of his dreams in a contest he concocted. Contest winner Ross dislikes Hawaii and wants to go home and Crosby must keep her from going. . .first for business reasons and later, for love. Supporting cast includes Hawaiian Prince Leilani and a pig. Lots of song and dance and Hawaiian sunsets, along with Burns and Raye, the other couple destined for love on the islands, keep the story moving.

Frank Tuttle directed Waikiki Wedding starring Bing Crosby (as Tony Marvin), Bob Burns (as Shad Buggle), Martha Raye (as Mrytle Finch) and Shirley Ross (as Georgia Smith). This romantic comedy came out in 1937, has a total running time of 39 minutes, won an Oscar and is featured in black and white. Tony Marvin is an advertising executive who puts on the “Miss Pineapple Princess” pageant. He ends up falling for the winner, Georgia Smith. The film is set in Hawaii, which means there’s a beautiful scenery and background throughout the movie. Georgia doesn’t care much for Hawaii and would like to go home, but Tony tries to keep her from leaving because he’s falling for her.
