I saw this film in Washington DC in the spring of 1956. I had just turned 8 years old. My mom and dad were visiting a tavern and allowed me to go across the street and watch Danny Boy while they ate or drank. I sat through it twice until my dad came and pulled me out. It was a great movie for an 8 year old. I cried like a baby and hated the evil "orange man" that tried to steal Danny. One thing that still is burnt in my memory is the fact that we returned to the bar and when I related the sad movie to my dad, I think he started crying as well. I think the cocktail hour had been extended! That's the memories that I have of good ole Danny Boy.
