Third in the series of fluff films adapted from Chic Young's comic strip. After the Bumstead family is snubbed at a snobby mountain resort they move to a friendlier nearby hotel where they try to help out the owners who are in danger of losing their investment. Baby Dumpling does his bit by unleashing a skunk in the ventilation system of the competing hotel.

Blondie Takes a Vacation came out in 1939 and has a total running time of 68 minutes. Penny Singleton (as Blondie Bumstead), Arthur Lake (as Dagwood Bumstead) and Larry Simms (as Baby Dumpling Bumstead) star in this fun family film. The Bumsteads go on a summer vacation to the mountains. They don’t stay at the original hotel as planned. Instead, they go to a hotel near by. While there, they help out the elderly owners with the hotel. The owners are about to go bankrupt so the Bumsteads try to help them.
