Bright, slapstick comedy based on the true story of the Jamaican bobsled team's quest to enter the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary. Candy is recruited to coach four unlikely athletes who don't quite exemplify the spirit of the Games. He accepts the challenge not only because of its inherent difficulty but because he needs to reconcile himself to past failures as a former sledder. When our heroes leave their sunny training ground for Calgary, their mettle is tested by serious sledders from more frigid climes who pursue the competition with a stern sense of mission. An upbeat story which will appeal to children, its target audience.

Cool Runnings

I first saw this movie in middle school and i really liked it. Then I saw it on the television a lot. This movie is enjoyable for any age. Derice Bannock was a sprinter that got disqualified from the Olympic Games due to a stupid accident. Irving Blitzer, who got his bobsled team's gold medals taken away for adding weights to the sled, is his father's old friend. Derice finds out that they are both in Jamaica and gets ahold of Irv to get a team ready to bobsled in the Olympic Games. The team is the joke of the Olympics because they are from Jamaica being coached by a disgraced trainer. They painted their sled with Jamaican colors and named it "Cool Runnings." The team runs into a few sticky situations, but in the end they prove everyone wrong with the gold medal just in their reach. Will they make it to the gold? Watch to find out.
