The Sandlot
Young Scotty (Guiry) moves to a new neighborhood in California in 1962 and tries to make friends despite not knowing anything about playing baseball. His scrappy teammates include the friendly Benny (Vitar), a chubby loud-mouthed catcher named Ham (Renna), and Squints (Leopardi), a would-be Lothario before his time. Action revolves around Scotty's attempt to get baseball autographed by Babe Ruth out of the clutches of giant killer junkyard dog owned by Jones before dad Leary discovers it's missing. Small wonder is nostalgic without being sentimental, and tells its tale with grace and humor, supported by a period soundtrack.

Oooohhh yes! Another all-time favorite! Just like many other movies, this one was watched over and over and over again since The Sandlot came out, and we never got sick of it. This movie was my inspiration when I first joined t-ball and then softball. My sister had a huge crush on Scotty for the longest time and would buy any other movie he was in. I thought those shoes that Benny had were so cool so my mom bought me some hot-pink Barbie ones that looked like them. I was probably 4 or 5 years old. I also loved that big dog, and some of my friends have dogs like that. I still watch it from time to time and it will always be considered one of my top all-time favorites no matter what.
