Phil (Murray), an obnoxious weatherman, is in Punxatawney, PA to cover the annual emergence of the famous rodent from its hole. After he's caught in a blizzard that he didn't predict, he finds himself trapped in a time warp, doomed to relive the same day over and over again until he gets it right. Lighthearted romantic comedy takes a funny premise and manages to carry it through to the end. Murray has fun with the role, although he did get bitten by the groundhog during the scene when they're driving. Elliott is perfectly cast as a smart-mouthed cameraman.

Groundhog Day is a fun comedy. It hit theaters in 1993 and has a run time of 103 minutes. Phil is a weatherman and for the past four years he is sent on Groundhog Day to cover the story of the groundhog and his shadow. Well, it’s Groundhog Day, and Phil is sent yet again to cover the story. During the day, Phil finds himself stuck in a blizzard and a bizarre thing happens. The next day, he wakes up to find that it’s Groundhog Day yet again. He soon finds himself reliving the same day over and over again! He’s doomed! The only way to stop reliving the same day is if he lives the day the right way.

If I were in Phil's (Bill Murray) place, i would go insane! It reminds me of the twilight zone or something. He wakes up everyday and it's the same day, Groundhog Day! The same thing everyday would get totally boring and really annoying. He tries to do things differently to switch things up and to try to make that day stop happening. He is a really rude man in this movie and has to find a way to make that day go right. He is a weatherman and didn't predict the blizzard that came through and that's another big part that started this craziness. I think i watched this for the reason that my sister's birthday is on Groundhog Day, but it turned out that I liked this movie. This movie has a good story line to it, basically saying, "Do things right the first time because you might not get a second chance to make things right," but in his case he had many since that day kept happening.
