Two nerdy biochemists procure a love potion that they test on animals. Meeting with success they agree to test it on themselves. Predictably, the scientists are transformed and fall in love with each other. Features a talented young cast, with an amusing cameo by Bancroft, but the script is a real disappointment because of its shallow characters and lame gags. Inspired by the song by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller.

Love Potion No. 9 came out in the year 1992. The movie has 96 minutes of non-stop laughter. Love Potion No. 9 is about two biochemists testing an elixir called “Love Potion No. 9”. Paul Matthews (Tate Donovan) is a biochemist that has horrible luck with women. So his friends talk him into visiting Madame Ruth (Anne Bancroft). She’s a gypsy and on his visit to her she gives him “Love Potion No. 8”. This elixir is made to make people of the opposite sex fall in love with each other. He thinks it’s a good idea, so he tells his friend Diane Farrow (Sandra Bullock) about it and together they try testing with it. They even test it on each other. Oops! Now they have fell for each other!
