Sometimes it takes Hollywood to help bring out the truth that lies hidden in the facade of prestige in the Services that have seized the USA for so long. The enemy will not respect the USA less if it faced up to facts and not sacrifice the integrity of deep, well-meaning officers and men who gave so much for so long, all broken up inside and have to take their own life in 1968. Shame on the Navy top brass of the time and let McVay's life be a lesson to all those now at the helm of affairs. War is not good anyway, turns nations against each other, sailor against sailor and in the end we are left with destroyed spirits and souls. Pinnock
