Two stories about four women, love, friendship, Southern charm, and eccentricity are untidily held together by wonderful performances. Unhappy, middle-aged Evelyn (Bates), meets the talkative 83-year-old Ninny Threadgoode (Tandy). Ninny reminisces about her Depression-era life in the town of Whistle Stop, Alabama and the two women, Idgie (Masterson) and Ruth (Parker), who ran the local cafe. Back-and-forth narrative as it tracks multiple storylines is occasionally confusing, though strong character development holds interest. Surprising box office hit adapted by Fannie Flagg from her novel "Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe."

I first saw this movie when i was little and used to watch it all the time. I havn't seen it in a while though. Fried Green Tomatoes tells a story about a girls life, as well as her family and some friends. An older woman tells the story and by the end, her story hints that she is the girl from the story. For the most part, it takes place back in the olden days. This movie has some pretty sad parts so if you watch it, which i do recommend, have a box of tissues next to you!
