It's Christmas Eve and NYC cop John McClane (Willis) has arrived in L.A. to spend the holiday with his estranged wife Holly (Bedelia) and their kids. Unfortunately, Holly is one of the hostages being held by a band of ruthless high-stakes terrorists in the Century City high-rise headquarters of a Japanese corporation. Soon it's the loner cop against the intruders, who are led by Eurotrash villain Hans Gruber (a marvelous performance by Rickman). A high-voltage action thriller that's just as unbelievable as it sounds, but you'll love it anyway. Based on the novel "Nothing Lasts Forever" by Roderick Thorp.

Bruce Willis plays an amazing role in this movie. John McClane is a cop from New York City. He is on his way to Los Angeles to see his kids and his wife Holly, who moved to LA because of a job at the Nakatomi Corporation. When he arrives at the Nakatomi building for his wife's office party, international terrorists take over the building and hold every one as hostage to steel $600 million of bonds from the vaults of the building. John is the only one who wasn't captured. The F.B.I. is called but John decides to take matters into his own hands.

A New York policeman named John McClane (Bruce Willis) comes to LA to see his family for Christmas. When he arrives, he goes to the Nakatomi Plaza Hotel to meet his wife Holly for her work Christmas party and the entire building is taken over by terrorists except John. Now he has to find a way to save everyone. All the phone lines have been cut, the exits have been sealed off and the guards have been replaced with terrorists. John quietly goes through the building trying to find out the terrorists motive for all this. He kills the terrorists that he encounters as he prepares a plan for the hostages rescue. This 1988 film is loaded with action and villains. A must see movie!
