Eight-year-old Kevin is accidentally left behind when his entire (and large) family makes a frantic rush for the airport. That's the plausible part. Alone and besieged by burglars, Culkin turns into a pint-sized Rambo defending his suburban castle with the wile and resources of a boy genius with perfect timing and unlimited wherewithal. That's the implausible part. Pesci and Stern, the targets of Macauley's wrath, enact painful slapstick with considerable vigor, while Candy has a small but funny part as the leader of a polka band traveling cross-country with mom O'Hara. The highest-grossing picture of 1990, surpassing "Ghost" and "Jaws."

Macaullay Culkin does a phenomenal job in this Christmas movie! This is a classic and one of my favorites! The fun and humor starts right from the beginning. With the whole family getting ready for a huge Christmas trip overseas, they all decide to stay at the McAllister's (Culkin[s home). The ginormous family provides many humorous acts from the Kevin's brother Buzz, Fuller "who wets the bed", Uncle Frank, the creepy neighbor, and of course the robbers! From the start of Kevin being alone he is sure to have a great time with his family being gone for the holidays. However, two robbers try to intrude on Kevin's fun by trying to rob the house while the family is gone. Little do they know is that Kevin Mcallister is there to protect his house at any cost. With the obstacles and traps he sets up in order to get them away from his home, you run into many funny incidents during this time. However, in the end Kevin realizes that Christmas isn't as much fun without the family and in the end it brings them together, while taking out those robbers!
