I finally got what I really wanted for many years after seeing "After the Promise". My husband paid over 40.00 for a DVD of the movie. He knew I have been wanting to see again, since the first time I saw it was on TV and only caught the last 30 minutes of it. But my question is...Where can I find the book with more detail of the struggle this family went through. The ending was great, but just watching Elmer hug his son at the end of the movie couldn't be the end. Did Elmer end up battling with the state dept. for keeping his son's...there has to be more...please keep me informed....

This is definitely one of my favorite movies. I can't say that it's a "fun" movie, but it's very thought-provoking and has a ring of truth to it. You have to sympathize with Jackson--the movie really brings out his struggle and his effort to bring the boys home.
