The third screen version of Louisa May Alcott's classic story. Lackluster compared to the previous attempts, particularly the sterling 1933 film, but still worthwhile. During the Civil War, four sisters share their lives as they grow up and find romance. Garson's TV debut. Followed by a TV series.

Available on Running time 200 minutes.

Good grief, it's not "lackluster" -- it's the best adaptation out there. Watch it.
