The Bible story comes alive in this lush and colorful Fox production. Peck and Hayward are great together and Peck is properly concerned about the wrath of God over his transgressions. Terrific costumes and special effects, lovely music and a fine supporting cast keep this a notch above other Biblical epics.

David and Bathsheba came out in 1951 and has a total running time of 116 minutes. Susan Hayward, Gregary Peck, Raymond Massey, Kieron Moore and James Robertson star in this Biblical epic. David is the King of Isreal. He has many wives, children and power. What he does not have is the love of a woman who accepts him for him and not as a king. He becomes very attracted and interested to Bathsheba. The only problem is she is married to on of his soldiers. David and Bathsheba fall in love and the only way to marry each other is if her husband is killed. Because of that, the wrath of God comes upon the kingdom. Now David must make the right decisions and rediscover his faith in God inorder to save the day.
