Headstrong teenage mermaid falls in love with a human prince and longs to be human too. She makes a pact with the evil Sea Witch to trade her voice for a pair of legs; based on the famous Hans Christian Andersen tale. Charming family musical, which harks back to the days of classic Disney animation, and hails a new era of superb Disney animated musicals. Sebastian the Crab nearly steals the show with his wit and showstopping number "Under the Sea."

Disney’s The Little Mermaid came out in 1989 and has a total running time of 82 minutes. Christopher Daniel Barnes (voice of Eric), Jodie Benson (voice of Ariel), Pat Carroll (voice of Ursula) star in this fun family film. The Little Mermaid is an animated film filled with adventure. It’s about a mermaid named Ariel. She’s a teenager and loves adventures, especially going near land. Her father, King Triton, is pretty strict with her though. When Ariel saves a human from a sinking ship, she soon wishes to become human. She visits Ursula who’s a sea witch. Ariel trades her voice for feet. Her goal is to reunite with Eric and live happily ever after! This used to be my favorite Disney film. The music is awesome and catchy as well.
This is another childhood favorite! i loved mermaids when I was little just from seeing this movie. When I was very little, my family took a trip to Disney Land and my sister and I got our picture taken dressed as the little mermaid. I love that picture! It's crazy that she would trade her voice for legs. I couldn't go without talking even for a little amount of time! But why does she have bright red hair?
