The after-life is confusing for a pair of ultra-nice novice ghosts Adam Maitland (Baldwin) and his wife Barbara (Davis), who are faced with chasing an obnoxious family of post-modern art lovers who move into their house. Then they hear of a poltergeist who promises to rid the house of all trespassers for a price. Things go from bad to impossible when the maniacal Keaton (as the demonic "Betelgeuse") works his magic. The calypso scene is priceless. A cheesy, funny, surreal farce of life after death with inventive set designs popping continual surprises. Ryder is striking as the misunderstood teen with a death complex, while O'Hara is hilarious as the yuppie art poseur.

Michael Keaton, Geena Davis, Alec Baldwin, Winona Ryder, and Catherine O’Hara star in the 1988 movie Beetlejuice. Beetlejuice has a run time of 92 minutes. Adam (Baldwin) and Barbara Maitland (Davis) were your average couple. They lived in a beautiful house in New England and had a happy life. Sadly, one day driving home, the two get into a car accident. They get home later, only to find that they are now ghosts. Now a new family, the Deetz, is moving into their house. Adam and Barbara try their best to scare the Deetz family out but it doesn’t work. Instead, the two are laughed at. Adam and Barbara call on Beetlejuice for help. That’s when the trouble starts. With the help of Lydia Deetz (Ryder), the Maitlands learn to live in peace with the Deetz.

This is a good movie about Adam (Alec Baldwin) and Barbara (Geena Davis)who have a nice life, great house and they have a lot of dreams together for their future. One day while driving, they get in a car wreck and are able to walk home and are happy that they weren't badly hurt. They soon discover that they have died and are now ghosts that live in their own house. The only problem is that they can't leave their house. Soon their house is sold and a family moves in and re-decorates everything. Adam and Barbara want to get the family out of their house so they find their life after death handbook and decide to call upon Beetlejuice, who is King of the people-exorcizer, and they regret bringing him into their "lives". They do discover that the little girl that lives in their house can hear them and they become friends with her. Both families eventually learn to accept each other and become friends but they have a lot of problems to encounter to get to that point. This is a funny show but don't say Beetlejuice 3 times in a row or you might encounter problems of your own.
