Romantic comedy follows the long relationship between two adults who try throughout the changes in their lives (and their mates) to remain platonic friends--and what happens when they don't. Wry and enjoyable script is enhanced by wonderful performances. Another directorial direct hit for "Meathead" Reiner, and a tour de force of comic screenwriting for Ephron, with improvisational help from Crystal. Great songs by Sinatra sound-alike Connick.

This movie, which was made in 1977, is a comedy about 2 good friends that decide that men and women can't be just friends without the relationship going further. The friends are Harry Burns, played by Billy Crystal, and Sally Albright, played by Meg Ryan. They go to college together at University of Chicago and when they graduate they both are going to move to New York City so they ride together and talk the whole way about the fact that men and woman can't be friends. Once they arrive in New York, they say goodbye and don't see each for five years until they run into each other on a plan and then end up sitting together. Sally has a boyfriend and Harry is going to be getting married so they catch up on each other's lives and again discuss the fact that men and woman can't be just friends. Again, they say goodbye at the end of the flight and don't see each other again for five years and then run into each other at a bookstore. They both have broke up with their partners so they go out to dinner. They become good friends and talk all the time. This is a great movie and the acting and chemistry between the two stars is really good. You'll have to watch the movie to see if they become more than friends!
